The SOMA macro base station is the network infrastructure component of the SOMA solution, which also includes the SOMAport™ subscriber terminal and the SOMA SoftAir™ platform. The SOMA macro base station works in tandem with the advanced SoftAir platform to create a next-generation wireless IP service node that communicates with intelligent subscriber terminals to provide broadband data, landline-quality voice and other advanced applications. A single SOMA macro base station can support thousands of subscribers receiving megabit per second data rates.
